Record Store Day
Record Store Day was conceived in 2007 at a gathering of independent record store owners and employees as a way to celebrate and spread the word about the unique culture surrounding nearly 1400 independently-owned record stores in the US and thousands of similar stores internationally. The first Record Store Day took place on April 19, 2008. Today, Record Store Day is celebrated at independently-owned brick-and-mortar record stores around the world.
This years' BLACK FRIDAY RECORD STORE DAY event will be on November 28, and the list is out now and available from the RECORD STORE DAY website!
The bulk of our RSD orders were due OCTOBER 16TH at MIDNIGHT. We may or may not being able to add over the next couple of weeks. We will post event specifics when the date gets a little closer (here, our e-list, and Instagram page).
Keep in mind, we DO NOT hold RSD titles for any specific individuals, PERIOD. You must come to the store on the day of and seek out items on your wishlist! We are a smaller shop and don't have the resources to order multiple copies of every release on the list and hope they sell. We do, however, order a pretty good quantity, based on customers interest and our limited history with these events.
As with regular RSD in April, there will be an orderly process in place on RSD Black Friday, consistent with Record Store Day principles. This will not be a free for all. If you attended our RSD event in April, you know it was orderly, organized, and enjoyed by all!
